Dr. Wieland Alge, VP & General Manager Europe, Middle East and Africa

As VP & General Manager EMEA, Barracuda Networks, Wieland Alge is responsible for Barracuda Networks business in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before this he was CEO and co-founder of phion AG, which merged 2009 with Barracuda Networks. With many years of experience in the planning and deployment of international security projects, Wieland Alge has also a profound knowledge of the user’s and administrator’s perspective on security. As a specialist councilor on the federal data protection advisory board, Dr. Alge consults the Austrian government on matters of data protection.

After attaining the PhD of Science, Wieland Alge was lecturer and Scientific Assistant at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University Innsbruck. In 2008 he won Ernst & Young’s 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award.
