According to a study conducted by the EU, as part of the DigiCom program, it is estimated that the demand for IT practitioners in the European Union will reach 750,000 by 2020. The tremendous pace at which the demand for e-skills has been growing will either entail the outsourcing of certain IT activities to third countries (India, the US, etc.) or generate investments aimed at the professional development of employees, in order to close this gap.

14,000 companies active in the IT&C field and approximately 100,000 employees. Taking advantage of its solid positioning, Romania exported IT services amounting to 1.5 billion EUR in 2015 (approximately 10% of total services exported). How did we manage to achieve such outstanding results? 3 key factors have positively influenced this evolution: the excellent professional training of employees, major investments performed in IT infrastructure (data centres, fibre optic backbones, research laboratories, etc.) and the flexibility of Romanian companies in the process of developing customised solutions for their clients.
Romania is ready to absorb part of these projects, as part of its strategy to invest strongly in the future. Here, at AdNet Telecom, we have also performed a number of investments in the past two years which we hope shall position us as a leader in the field of data centre and cloud services.
AdNet Telecom opened the first modular data centre in Eastern Europe, using state-of-the-art technologies, for maximum energy efficiency. Our goal is to reach a 1.3 PUE at full capacity. What advantages does this pose to our clients? An energy efficient data centre helps companies implement their green development strategies, as well as reduce collocation costs. Based on this concept, we opened a second location, in Cluj-Napoca (labeled Romania’s Silicon Valley) in order to better cater to the local market, as well as to enable rendering back-up, disaster recovery and business continuity services (we also provide office space for our clients), exclusively based on our own infrastructure. And because the data centre and cloud service market is highly receptive to our solutions, we will soon open a third data centre.

AdNet Telecom offers virtualisation solutions using one of the most advanced platforms: VM Ware. CISCO UCS provides the processing power, while the HPE 3PAR storage provides the speed and reliability of the platform. A highly flexible platform which allows us to provide the most efficient cloud solutions: IaaS, PaaS and DaaS. The DDoS protection system provided by Arbor Networks, together with the load balancing solution, provided by A10 Networks, allow us to supply clean and quick connections to the services of the AdNet Telecom data centres.
We have revised the range of services provided by AdNet Telecom, which has been designed in order to help companies improve and develop the IT infrastructure behind their business applications, as easily as possible. The main objectives of the new products are maximum efficiency and flexibility.
Our website, www.AdNettelecom.ro has also been redesigned, in order for clients to easily access the products best suited to their needs, as well as to place orders, thus reducing the delivery time of the product to the client to a minimum.
We have also invested in human resources. Any platform, regardless of its technical performance, is of little worth without people. People who know what solutions they can offer their clients in order to meet their needs, people who know how to respond to support questions, in an efficient and timely manner. We want to help our clients reduce their IT infrastructure costs and allow them to focus their resources on what matters most: their core business!
